HalfPuff is built privacy-first. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party tracking or analytics. The short version: the data you create in HalfPuff lives on your device, and we designed the app so we never need to see it.
Your puff logs, cravings, taper plan, and the settings you enter (such as your baseline and what a vape costs you) are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database. This data powers your counter, trends, and money-saved figures. We do not receive a copy of it.
If a future version offers iCloud sync, it will use your own private iCloud container, which is encrypted and accessible only to you and your devices — never to us.
If you turn on Recovery, HalfPuff asks your permission to read your resting heart rate and sleep data from Apple Health. This is used only to show you how your body is recovering as your puffs drop. It is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. HalfPuff never writes to Health, and you can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Health.
If you choose to send a bug report, idea, or note through the in-app feedback hub, we receive the message you wrote and basic context to help us act on it: the app version, your device model, your iOS version, and whether you're on the free or Pro plan. If you add your email so we can tell you when something ships, we use it only for that. We don't receive any of this unless you tap send.
HalfPuff Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the transaction and your payment details — we never see your card or billing information. The app only learns whether your subscription is currently active, so it can unlock Pro features on your devices.
Logging from the widget, Control Center, Action Button, Back Tap, or Siri writes a puff into the same on-device store. These surfaces operate locally on your device.
HalfPuff is intended for adults working to cut down on nicotine and is not directed at children under 13.
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
